Honestly I think one is a bit old for a play pen, I think you'd be better off spending your money on toddler proofing your house and a couple of stair gates to block off any dangerous areas ( like one on the kitchen door, one bottom of stairs etc). I just can't see an over one year old happily playing confined within such a small space. I second Kiwispiers, 1 is the age where they are discovering the world. I never put my son (now 3) in a playpen and he survived. :-) (barely, nono just kidding) He is so used to just playing on the carpet and all his toys are there so he barely even gets off except for a ride around the house on his bike. My husband does want to get a playpen for baby nr2 but I am not a big fan of that idea.

We couldn't find anything like that here. Or they are way too expensive. Hopefully it does the job ok. We were also looking at another one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/playpen-Strolch-multiple-divider-safety/dp/B0063NAQ52/ref=pd_sim_by_2

My son is a year old. He hates the small playpen we have, so although he has run of the downstairs (it's babyproofed as much as possible), we have ordered a much much larger playpen from Ebay, which we will pick up on our way back from our hol. I need space from him, I don't want him to join me in the toliet etc. I also need it so I can have a shower alone, and for our dog to have his food and water without my son getting to it. Hope this helps. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/160982141728?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 The one on that link looks very good!! alot more room than the smaller ones at baby shops.
