Hi ladies,

Just found out yesterday that I'm pregnant and looking for some advice. I was pregnant a few months ago but unfortunately it ended in miscarriage. I had some frustrations with the dr I saw at the time, Dr Sudjata at Dubai mall (I did post up about this at the time) and unsure whether to go back to her this time. Benefits are that she knows my history as I also had a ruptured cyst on my ovary a few months before mc too. Also I live in downtown so Dubai mall medical practice is very handy. Also she delivers at City hospital where I want to deliver as had to have 2 stays there now and really like it, also my insurance covers it. Been to American Hospital before and I really didn't like it plus insurance doesn't cover it.

So basically wondering if anyone can recommend a dr who is based in or near downtown that delivers in City hospital?

Thanks.

Ps - so excited and happy yo be pregnant again :)

Yep he is based in the main hospital. You can go on the city hosp website and view his profile and qualifications/training etc. if you do decide to see him just call the hosp on the main number on the website and ask to book an appointment with him - nice and simple. He is quite popular and gets booked up quickly (always makes time for his existing patients though) so you might need to wait a few weeks to see him for the first time. Best of luck :)

Thank you so much for your reply. I think you're right and as much as it's convenient so stay with same doctor there were a few things that were handled badly last time, ie telling me my pregnancy wasn't viable at 5 weeks then at 6 weeks detecting a heartbeat and being like oops I got it wrong! Ok so is your Dr based at the clinic at City hospital then? I do drive so it's not so bad just so handy having the medical centre that I can walk to at the mall. Do I just make an appointment directly with them? I'm only just over 4 weeks but think I should prob go see someone soon because of my miscarriage. Xxx

Congratulations on your pregnancy Cosmogirl :) I personally think that you should not stay with a Dr that you are not totally satisfied with. I'm sure you are feeling quite anxious this time around due to the unfortunate miscarriage that you suffered with your last pregnancy and I think you should be able to trust and feel comfortable with your Dr throughout this pregnancy. As you would like to deliver at City then I would definitely recommend my Dr who is based at City Hosp - Dr Ibrahim. He delivered my first baby almost 2 years ago and I also seeing him again for my current pregnancy. It's really not that far from Downtown and if you do not drive then you could always get the metro as the stop is right outside City Hosp. I trust Dr Ibrahim 100%. He is very easy to speak to and I have never felt like im asking a stupid question (even if it is a really stupid question!!) I find that he really listens to me and takes all of my opinions and views seriously. He is also pro natural birth. With regards to your previous Dr knowing your history - I wouldn't stick with a Dr just for this reason. You are entitled to all of your medical notes so you can always contact the clinic and ask for a copy so that you can provide your new Dr with all the information required. One of the benefits from private healthcare is that you can choose your Dr so I would definitely take advantage of that fact and find someone that you are 100% happy and comfortable with so you can enjoy your pregnancy to the fullest. Best of luck to you with finding a Dr and congrats again on the pregnancy - being a mum really is the best job in the world :)
