Oh it's awful, I had terrible heartburn with my 2 as they were both sitting so high up. I went through bottles of Gaviscon, the doc told me it isn't absorbed into your system so can't harm babe. I often drank milkshakes and avoided fruit juice unless diluted. Good luck!

I had awful heartburn with all 4 pregnancies - even just drinking water would set it off - I did find that milk or yoghurt caused less heartburn than other acidic foods like orange juice etc. But finally in this last pregnancy I found the "cure" - a wheat free diet - I had amazing results it just about disappeared overnight until the last trimester. I also found that if I did eat wheat, wholewheat would cause less heartburn than white flour - say goodbye to cakes and pastries! And for the reflux at night definitely Zantac helped enormously. Good luck and happy pregnancy.

Oh you poor love. I remember those days, simply horrible. Try propping your pillows up in bed and drinking lots of water, snacking on bland foods.

I had horrendous heartburn in the last trimester!!! Ended up taking Ranitidine ie Zantac as it was so bad! http://www.patient.co.uk/health/Pregnancy-and-Dyspepsia.htm This may help! Good luck - if it get worse at night - you may like to try sleeping propped up a bit! :) xxx

Not entirely sure if there is a cure for this........except time. Once the babe's head drops, it will pass..........thirty years on i recall with joy the moment it happened! But, seriously not nice whilst it lasts.

Grapes Grapes and Grapes. I had horrible heartburn, couldnt eat any food due to it. but had grapes after every meal, and found relief that no other medicine gave me. ETA you should also eat small meals at short intervals rather than having the fixed 3 or 5 meals everyday. as ur in ur 3rd tri, the baby will be growing, and needs space, hence eventually the heartburn occurs. Wishing you luck. Do let us know how it goes. edited by sholay on 29/04/2011
