hi! i'm just new here in this site and i've read that there was already a thread same with my case. i'm 3 mos. pregnant and my fiance will get married this dec. i've read in the previous thread that most of the problem will occur in registering the birth. i would like to ask if its ok if i will go to my home country if im 34 weeks and will i be question in the immigration in the airport if they see that i was single when i went here in abu dhabi even though i would have my marriage certificate by then? will they also check if my marriage date and me being pregnant doesn't match. please help..

If it's just Immigration that you are worried about then it should be ok.

Ive already had my 1st checkup and the hosp didnt ask for any martiage cert. il be getting married this Dec. im planning to go home to my home country by my 8th month to deliver my baby cz no one will also look after the baby. My worry now is, the immigration might question me if they found out that my visa status is single.

Have you seen an obstetrician here yet jenskye? If you do require any emergency treatment and you are pregnant and unmarried, the hospital will have to report you to the police. I'm not trying to scary you but being pregnant and unmarried here is not a safe position to be in. I don't know your situation but I personally wouldn't risk it. Are you able to leave until you are married?

OP, have you thought what would happen should you require any emergency treatment until 34 weeks?

Hi jenskye I've never heard of anyone being questioned at Immigration in your situation so as far as I'm aware you should be fine. Regarding the hospital, a friend here got married when she was five months pregnant. When she showed the marriage certificate to the hospital (you have to provide one to register) they noted that she was unmarried when she became pregnant and they reported it - they are legally obliged to do this. A few weeks later her husband had to appear before someone and say he was very sorry then it was over. It sounds like a big deal and they were a worried about it at the time but it really wasn't a big issue. Over with very quickly and no lasting problems. This was in 2006, not sure if anything has changed since then. Good luck with your wedding and your baby.

Immigration and hospitals wont check the date of marriage. As long as you have the marriage certificate, you will be fine.

In general, the authorities don't want to know if you are pregnant or married or both or neither. You're only trouble will be if something happens and you need to go to the hospital or whatever.
