Ladies some help please. I took 3 tests all positive, had a blood test positive, went for scan at 5 weeks doc couldn't see anything said may be ectopic. Went for proper scan at hospital not ectopic but no sign of a sac or anything? Doctor just let me walk out not explaining a thing? Would they see anything at 5 weeks anyway?

Hang in there, smiler. I know how stressful this wait is, but i really probably just is too early. Unless you're having serious abdominal pain or bleeding, there really is no reason to be concerned.

Agree with gingercat, 5 weeks you can't see much at all. A positive pregnancy test means you're pregnant--congrats!!!! A scan at 5 weeks won't show much of anything. Heartbeat doesn't start until the 6th week and even being off a few days can make a huge difference in whether they can see much at that stage, either. Unless you're bleeding, there's nothing to be concerned about. Even if you are, that doesn't mean things aren't on track. I spotted throughout the first trimester with both my kids. (FWIW, I've also lost more babies than I have given birth to, so I've been on both ends of the good/bad news spectrum.)

Far too early for lots of pregnancies. Nothing to see at 5 weeks for us. Now she is 13 months old. Wait a week and get a second opinion x edited by gingercat on 24/04/2013

All internal, they thought it was ectopic hence the scans

Internal or external scan? I don't think you would see much at all with an external, did you have a full bladder for the scan? I'm surprised they did a scan so early tbh.
