If you handed your notice in prior to birth - how many weeks before did you do this?
Did you go straight onto DH visa after yours being cancelled ?
If so when do you adivise to process this as could it mess up any registrations for the birth/hospital etc with no PP?

If you handed notice in after birth did you return to work after 45days then work your notice?
Again with processing to cancel your visa did this mess up any registrations to be done for little one ?

And last of all ! What would you advise having all gone through it yourself?

Sorry for so many questions but I am finding it so hard to get anyones perspective or opinions, hopefully this can help other mums to be in the future wondering the same thing :)

Thanks so much.

Hi lucky4uitsme! Congratulations. For me I went on maternity leave first. I took my 45days leave plus any unused holiday, plus an addition month off of unpaid leave. That gave me enough time to decide if I wanted to go back or not. I resigned while on leave but they did not make me work my notice period. Really it all depends on who is your employer. As for visa, bear in mine that your employer first needs to cancel your visa so they'll need your passport and then your husbands co will require it again to process the new visa. WHen the baby is born you'll need your passport and husband's to register the baby and depending which country you are from to receive baby's passport. Babysteps can take care of this for you. I hope this helps edited by MaxandMe on 17/10/2011 edited by MaxandMe on 17/10/2011
