Green-ish, u r the main inspiration for me to start using cloth nappies. Ur fondness for them is sooo infectious... and I dont regret the decision one bit :). LZ, you can contact Sophia at info at the rate mayangels dot com or 0555147182. She sells cloth nappies, and mostly keeps aussie brands, mainly itti bittie, cushie tushies, bonnibuns, and pea pods. She can send the price list on mail. If I remember correctly, Bonnibuns were 45 bucks but the inserts were charged separately at 18 bucks. Home delivery is free for orders over 200 bucks, so u might not need to go anywhere either. If I may suggest, it is worth doing ur homework online and work out where u can get the best bargain. With newborn twins, u might need a good number of nappies, unless u plan to wash them daily. I also remember reading on EW about u can use cotton nappies frm ur regular supermarket (Lulu, Carrefour, etc) as gr8 inserts/ liners at quarter of the price. I dont remeber exactly. Maybe some of the ladies here can help u wid that. Also, u might find these links helpful. I haven't read anything other that the OP, so apologies if I'm repeating anything. I have used cloth nappies for all three of my children and I LOVE them...I'm almost going through withdrawals now that my youngest has toilet trained. ;) I HIGHLY recommend http://www.thenappylady.co.uk/ - they have a free questionnaire which you can complete online and one of their 'nappy ladies' gets back to you with information and recommendations on the best styles and brands best suited to your situation. There are hundreds of great brands out there. You can get a full set for as little as 500dhs or spend thousands! Once you buy the nappies, if you look after them, they will be good for two more babies so they are FAR better value than disposables. :D <em>edited by Green-ish on 08/05/2012</em>

Hi, Ive ordered from these online stores and they both deliver to Dubai: 1. DiaperJunction.com - they have various pricing options for different CD brands and types. They're US-based though so you'd be charged for shipping. I paid around 50usd for 9CDs and a couple of liners. Delivery is via US Postal Service so you'd have to pick up the package from the post office. They'll give you the tracking number so you'll know when it arrives, took about 7 working days for me. 2. charliebanana.com - around 20usd each for one-size CDs but they look really nice and are super soft. Hongkong based and delivered to you via fedex. I paid 12usd for 4CDs, took 5 working days if i remember correctly. I have not tried ordering from alvababy.com but from what i've read, delivery is free to any destination and CDs usually cost 5usd per piece. I cannot vouch for the quality of any of the CDs though as I have not tried them yet, baby wont be here till August.

Thanks champagne blonde and gingercat. I have no means to get the lollipops from UK. I can perhaps try bumgenius; but it'll be expensive for me. I know; it may be still cheaper than using pampers all the time, but with twins, I may need a lot of cloth nappies and 75 AED per piece is expensive (for me).

I use Bumgenius all in ones on my lo who is 8 weeks old. We have been using them sice she was born. Love them!!! Expensive at around 75 dhs each but they are one size which can made bigger as your child grows. We have 21 which is plenty. You get a newborn insert and a thicker insert with each one. We used the newborn insert for the first 6 weeks and now use the thicker one at the smallest setting. At night I use the two liners as she is now starting to sleep for most of the night and we don't have any leaks. They are expensive to buy in the beginning but you will never have to buy another nappy for your baby. We wash every second day. Rinse liner and nappy with hose and chuck them in washing machine with a tiny bit of Allens washing detergent. They wash lovely and dry in no time. We are delighted with our decision. You can buy them in almost every continent so if someone can get one or two for you to try that would be great. Otherwise order them from Pinstripes and Polkadots online. Check out the reviews for BG online and they have by far the best reviews. We would never consider using disposables now! Good luck xx

I am a HUGE fan of the cloth nappies & I used a UK company called LOLLIPOPS, and the brand I have are Pop n Gro, which I bought as a starter pack. I would have no hesitation in recommending them! They have lasted so well that i can use them with my second bubba due in October. Don't know if they ship here as I bought them at a baby show when I was in London. Initially a newborn can use up to 8-10 nappies per 24hours, so you are washing washing a fair bit, but that slows down to about 6-7 per day after the first few weeks or so... Good Luck!

wow twins?!!! congrats! :) that must be soooo exciting (and well scary too!) i tried the juniors one when i had my first child... didn't like it 'coz it had a very plasticy feel and kept leaking through the sides so gave up on it quick... the REAL NAPPIES brand is good... but my lil one outgrew the 'newborn' size very quickly... the prefolds can be reused though so it wasn't all a waste and the disposable biodegradable liners are quite good at catching the poop! if ur having twins you will definitely need two sets of the starter kit... upping your costs a bit... the Arte Souq timetable can be found on http://www.arte.ae/ yes... when i say 'washable' both the inner prefolds and the outer nappy are both washable... i just have a regular bucket where i dump used ones and at the end of the day I stick the load into the washing machine for a quick 20-25minute cycle and then line dry... they dry pretty quickly so should be ready for use again soon... like i mentioned... the inner prefolds will need to be changed every two hours but the outer nappy need not be changed unless it's wet or dirty... the biodegradable liners catch the poop and can then be flushed down the toilet... any more questions ? :)

Thank you. That's a very useful link. The review says junior nappies are good though. Did you face any issues with them (i mean did you use them)? They are quite cheap compared to others but of course, if they give rashes to the baby then they aren't good :( Is the arte souk in times square center all the time or just once in a week or something? When we say washable, are both inner prefolds and the outer plastic both washable? Sorry, if my question is stupid. I'm more inclined to go for the starter kid. 155 AED sounds reasonable for the whole kit? And can be used until the newborn outgrows them? Am expecting twins btw. If all goes well, will have them in June as its been (and continues) to be a difficult high risk pregnancy.

firstly... congratulations on your pregnancy :) you can get cloth nappies also at places like Babyshop, have you thought of ordering online (via a shop&ship account)... the good brands are BumGenius and Tot Bots... read up on a timeout dubai review of the same here http://www.timeoutdubai.com/kids/features/17579-best-reusable-nappies the starter kit cost me AED 155/- and a newborn will need to be changed almost every 2hrs (but you only need change the inner prefolds) as the actual outer nappies don't get wet... and can be changed after every three inner changes... newborns tend to poop and pee a lot in their first month... however after that in the 2nd and 3rd month my daughter seems to pee a lot but poop only every three or four days (coz she's breast fed exclusively)... let me know if u need any more info edited by abby_n_christina on 02/05/2012

hi there... i use cloth nappies... and i bought them from a lovely lady who was selling them at the Arte Souk in Times Square Centre... since I was going to be using cloth nappies for the first time, she suggested I buy the starter kit for newborns from a company called REAL NAPPIES... the starter kit contains 3 Waterproof Covers (Nappies) + 12 Cotton Prefolds + 100 Pce Roll Of Biodegradable Liners. they do come in sizes... so you have Newborn, Infant, Crawler and Toddler... (depending on weight bracket)... Hi Abby, thanks for the response. I'm still expecting. But trying to do my homework in order to be prepared. Do you know of any other place apart from Arte souk that sells cloth nappies? I live in other end of Dubai. Newborn starter kit is a good idea. Do you recall how many changes your newborn needed in a day? And how much did the starter kit cost you? i bought the newborn one and my lil girl is now 3 months old so has outgrown her waterproof covers (white)... you're welcome to have them for AED 50/- for all three...
