Hello ladies

I know this topic must be discussed numerous times and yet i seek your valuable advise. I am travelling for the first time alone with dd who is 8 months and will be 8.5 months when we travel. We are going to india and delhi is 1.5 hours ahead of dubai. I am freaking out as i dont know how ill manage all alone. Have couple of qs as below and would be great if i could get your input

1: we are flying ek. Will they let me carry my own cool boiled water and boiled water? Also can i carry the full formula jar with me or i have to take only little? It is 3.5 hours flight only. I was told to feed ber before taking off and while landing. She does not drink milk infront of anyone and i hope that she does not refuse.

2: in regards to solids can i carry my own food? Was planning on taking jar of hip organic. In the morning i feed her rice cereal or oats but not sure if its a great idea to feed her the same in the plane. Will they let me carry oats if i decide to feed her?

3: as mentioned india is 1.5 hours ahead. She takes a bath at 7pm which means 830pm indian time which is fairly late. From experience do you follow dxb time or the time of the place where you are?

4: i p,an on packing lot ella and hip organic jars in my bag to feed here home. I hope this will not be an issue.

Thats all for now ladies :-) thanks once again for your help. If there are any other tips you would like me to give me then please please do.

Great thanks for all the advise.. Gosh you must get tired of me as im full of questions every time. Ive fed dd always on a high a chair and not sure how thats gonna work in the plane. Will have to figure out once there i guess. She is being fed every 3 hours and sometimes 2 or 2.5 hours based on her morning wakeup. Mum bought travel cot so gonna give it a go with that. Did you carry car seat with you? Can it be checked in normally? Thanks a bunch once again. Going this weekend to buy formula and all the food that i need to carry with me :-)

I am sure you are feeding your DD every 3-4 hrs, just maintain that. DS slept in his own crib (in our room) here and always co-slept when we were in India, and it took us a little while each time for him to get used to his own crib but we did ok. For clothing, go for something light, may be layers but fully covered (AC is sometimes too strong!) I personally don't prefer one piece body suits because its difficult to change nappies in the not-so-spacious loo of the plane. Take spare clothes for sure, and yes if she sleeps with a particular blanket/comforter (and some particular toy) take that. It will help her to feel secure in the new environment. I will suggest to have a back pack as baby's bag and if possible, a baby carrier too, it keeps your hands free. I have traveled alone with DS twice and baby carrier is a life-saver specially after you land in Del and the pram is available only at the luggage belt.

we have traveled 4-5 times to India (dxb-del & dxb-blr) before DS turned 1. Do not worry, it's fairly a small flight. 1. You can carry your own boiled water. My suggestion will be to measure the formula and put in different small containers. It will be easier for you on the flight too, you can carry the whole container as well. Feed while taking off and landing, babies tend to get cranky during that time coz of ear pain. 2. You can carry food jars or/and oats too. Baby food jars are available in flight too but if your DD prefers certain flavour then better to carry as they might not have huge variety. 3. My DS usually takes a couple of days to adjust after all the excitement of travelling and meeting so many people! I just follow his cues and accordingly feed/bathe and put him to sleep. 4. You can take as many jars as you want in your check-in baggage. Thanks a ton for reverting so quickly. Did you feed solid to your DS as soon as you landed? I normally do milk followed by solid. She has always slept in her own room and in delhi she will be in travel cot in my room. Furthermore she is a bit to active and is always curious to know whats going around so not sure how our plane journey will turn out. Between sorry i forgot to ask one more thing. In terms of clothingdo you carry full body suits or light clothing? Was thinking ill make her wear body suit and carry light clothes for whenwe land and also to carry her blanket with me for the plane.
