My DS is 9 months old. he is quite advance for his age- crawled early and is now trying to walk.

he eats food by hand and loves it but i can not get him to drink out of a sippy cup at all or from his bottle himself. i have tried 6 different sippy cups.

my friends DD has been drinking out of a cup since she was 7 months old- i know all babies are different but am just wondering if anyone else has been in the same position.

any advice is appreciated.

i know all babies are different but am just wondering if anyone else has been in the same position. any advice is appreciated. My advice would be to be patient. Babies all develop on their own timeline. My DS was frequently "late" in developing a lot of skills, but he's always caught up just on his own timeline. If it helps, my DD is 10 months and can drink a bottle by herself when the nanny gives one but can't really drink a sippy on her own. She plays with it, but needs us to hold it for her to actually drink.
