Hi Ladies,
We are spending a couple of months in Dubai from abroad and while I carried a few tins of formula, my DD is turning 1 in a week and I was hoping to make the switch to cow's milk however when I tried it today with her, she refused the bottle.
I'm also almost out of formula - can anyone recommend a good formula for that age available here? My first daughter tried Promil Gold and that always got her constipated - while I understand it is the best out here, should I chance it, after all, all babies are different?
Again any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

KellyC, I tried putting 2 ounces of cow's milk to 5 ounces of formula and DD noticed and would not so much as touch the bottle. I am trying to make the transition but struggling as she won't drink anything if cow's milk is in her bottle. Don't know how to switch, Haha I do e exactly the same and she noticed even if I put an ounce in it...I ended up giving her formula till she was two yrs old, as she loved a cup before bed time... If she's about a yr old u can just give it to her in the morning and evening so u have no need to carry around with u. As she should be getting enough vitimans etc from her food if she's eating well, and calcium etc from yoghurts etc if she doesn't like cows milk.

Obviously she knows what she likes! I would maybe try with even less then, and see if you can get away with that. I know its fiddly, but maybe even half an ounce at a time? And leave it a few days before you add another half an ounce. It may take a month or so this way, but it may work... Of course if she just hates cows milk, maybe you could try fortified rice or oat milk. DD was on soya milk for a time for lactose intolerance (before i did lots of reading up and scared myself off soya for life!), but then she seemed to like both fine. Formula-wise, i used SMA gold with DD and didnt have any problems. Its a UK formula which also has follow on, soya and lactose free varieties.

Hi Chocochic, just wanted to check if you are adding the cows milk gradually, rather than doing a whole bottle right off the bat. We did this with DD, replacing 30ml at a time every two days, and over the course of two weeks or so switched her completely to cows milk. She barely even noticed (or is just to greedy to care!) I'm sure you tried it this way, but just thought i'd put it out there.

She is on Emfamil but that is only a North American brand not sold here in this part of the world. Eeeks faircakeyumm - I am hoping she takes to regular milk soon as apart from formula being expensive, I find it a bit of nuisance to carry around with boiled water etc. Sigh.....thanks. I picked up Promil Gold for her and she seems to be liking it. Athough I just discovered it is Vanilla flavour so I hope this doesn't make the transition even harder.

Do they not do the formula she's already on for her age group? I used hipp organic on my dd as she was on it since birth and then they did a 12 months plus as she hated cows milk and she still does at 2 yrs old...
