Dubai Growth Video by Knight Frank Middle East

In what is a remarkable, visually effective time-lapse, an international real estate firm has managed to capture the astounding growth of Dubai over the past six decades.

Created and shared by company Knight Frank, the video has rapidly become viral across social media platforms since it was shared on YouTube on April 16th.

The video captures the evolution of the emirate over the past 58 years, beginning at the year 1960, and displays the highly anticipated plans and developments due for completion in the next 5 years ahead... Including the completion of the EXPO 2020 site, Dubai South, Bluewaters Island and 'The Tower'.

Watch the incredible video here:

For many expatriates, we're sure, the video brings home just how young the city of Dubai is in comparison to other major metropolitan destinations across the globe.

However we know that's not something to be ashamed of; from the arrival of Dubai Airport and Jumeirah in 1960, to the creation of the UAE itself in 1971, to 1985 when Emirates Airline began operating, and then on to construction of Burj Al Arab in 1999 and a decade later, the world's largest building, the Burj Khalifa in 2010... It's evident that despite it's adolescence, the city of Dubai is a modern marvel of construction, development, ideals and ambitions.

It's videos like this one that reminds us expats just how great a place Dubai is to live and call our home.

Of course, this is not the first time we've had the pleasure of witnessing Dubai's growth in such a short span of time. Back in 2016, Google Timelapse launched allowing us all to watch how both Dubai - and the rest of the planet - has evolved over 30 years. Not forgetting how incredible Dubai looks from space, and in this insane video captured by a resident.
