As we welcome the New Year in the UAE, we are starting it off on a good note.
New Year’s Day, which is January 1st will be an official public holiday in the UAE for public and private sectors.
The anticipated day in the year follows the Gregorian calendar and according to Article 81 of the UAE Labour Law, all employees are to take the day as an official holiday.
But can request to be granted another rest day if they are working on New Year’s Day.
The first of January will fall on a Tuesday – which means no long weekend, but it’s a must deserved mid-week relaxing session.
The UAE has also been gearing up with loads of celebrations for NYE in the country – with amazing firework displays scheduled, events and offers on December 31, 2018.
As the clock strikes 12, thousands of residents in the UAE will be celebrating a new chapter in their lives as 2019 is a new year for more achievements.
