Several more Dubai Metro station names will be changed from Wednesday August 5th, announced the emirate's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

So far, three other metro stations are confirmed to have a name change:

  • Al Rashidiya metro station will be renamed as Centrepoint metro station.
  • Al Jafiliya metro station will be renamed as Max Fashion metro station.
  • Dubai Marina metro station will be renamed as Sobha Realty metro station.

RTA officials granted the naming rights of Al Rashidiya and Al Jafiliya metro stations to the Landmark Group after an agreement was signed.

Last year in November, five other metro train stops received new station names: Sharaf DG to Al Fahidi, First Abu Dhabi Bank to Umm Al Sheef, Noor Bank to Al Safa, Damac to Dubai Marina, and Nakheel to Al Khail.

"This agreement is an important step towards establishing a strategic partnership with Landmark Group, especially at Al Jafiliya Station, which will be renamed as Max Fashion, and Al Rashidiya Station, which will be renamed and Centrepoint," said Ibrahim Al Haddad, Director of Commercial and Investment at the RTA Strategy and Corporate Governance sector.

"RTA is always keen to develop innovative partnership models that offer strategic opportunities to companies, especially domestic ones, to display and promote their brands in Dubai, a vital trading and business hub and a key destination for visitors and tourists from all over the world," Al Haddad continued.

From August 4 to October 10, outdoor signs, smart systems and electronic systems, as well as the audio announcements on board the metro carriages will be changed for the three stations.

If any metro commuters need assistance or clarification about the new changes, the RTA staff at any Dubai metro stations will be available to help.
