Living in a desert means the weather is hot and humid up until winter sets in
As the temperatures drop in the UAE and the weather gets much cooler, officials warn against high winds and unexpected weather conditions in winter this year.
And surprisingly enough, the UAE – a desert based country – recorded a temperature of 11.7 degrees Celsius on Sunday near some parts of the country during the early morning.
This never before recorded low was recorded by the National Centre of Meteorology near the Jebel Jais Mountain in Ras Al Khaimah on Sunday at around 2:30 in the morning.
Officials say that Jabal Jais – the UAE’s highest mountain peak – may still experience lower temperatures as winter sets in the country.
Where the weather can reach 50 degrees Celsius and above in the UAE, residents in the country welcome the cooler weather with open arms.
Other recorded temperatures in the UAE
Ras Al Khaimah was not the only emirate to experience colder temperatures over the weekend – other parts of the UAE recorded temperatures of 12 to 16 degrees Celsius.
And residents are noticing a huge difference in temperatures in just the span of two months - from September to November.
Areas such as Damtha, Rakhan and Ashaab recorded temperatures of 14.4, 15.1 and 16.1 degrees Celsius respectively during 6 am.
Winds and clouds continue to make their way around the UAE, especially in the Western regions. And winds are expected to reach a maximum of 42 kilometers per hour.
