The Shawwal moon has been sighted

The moon-sighting committee in the UAE's Capital has this evening announced that Saturday, 24th June will be the last day of Ramadan.
Sunday, 25th June will be the first day of Eid Al Fitr.
The day marks the beginning of the month of Shawwal, and was confirmed by the official Dubai Media Office Twitter account, which greeted their followers with 'Eid Mubarak'.

Eid Al Fitr marks the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan, a 30 day dawn-to-sunset fasting period for Muslims worldwide.

This means that Sunday and Monday are paid holidays for private sector workers, with the public sector receiving a longer break and resuming work on Wednesday, 28th June.
