We are seeking an enthusiastic, passionate, and experienced PHE Teacher to join our team on a maternity cover contract commencing in January 2027.

Job Purpose

• The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality Physical and Health Education lessons that engage, challenge, and inspire students of varying ages and abilities.
• Working as part of the PHE team, the teacher will contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment while supporting the school's commitment to holistic education, student wellbeing, and the development of lifelong healthy habits.
• The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of student-centred learning and be able to create engaging learning experiences that develop students' physical, social, emotional, and collaborative skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, challenging, and inclusive PHE lessons appropriate to students' age, ability, and developmental needs.
• Develop students' physical skills, fitness, confidence, teamwork, and understanding of healthy and active lifestyles.
• Use a range of teaching strategies to accommodate different learning needs and abilities.
• Assess and monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate records.
• Contribute to curriculum planning and development within the PHE department.
• Support the school's IB philosophy and approaches to teaching and learning.
• Promote positive behaviour, sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect.
• Ensure a safe, inclusive, and well-managed environment during all PHE activities.
• Participate in school events, activities, trips, competitions, and extracurricular programmes where required.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and other members of the school community.
• Contribute positively to the wider life and ethos of the school.
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding and student wellbeing in accordance with school policies and UAE requirements.

The successful candidate should possess the following:

• A recognized Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field.
• Previous experience teaching Physical and Health Education, preferably within an international school environment.
• A strong understanding of child development, student wellbeing, and inclusive education.
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
• The ability to build positive and professional relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse and supportive team.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• A flexible, proactive, and positive approach to school life.
