I am an American married to an Emirati... there are plenty of mixed marriages these days. People will probably not even notice. Take Care

Your family sounds very typical for both our neighborhood/compound and my daughter's international school! ;-) It will be a great experience.

Hello Lulu, I am an American who moved here 3 months ago. There is no need for you to be nervous about your marriage. There are so many expats living in the UAE you are going to be amazed and have nothing to worry about regarding culture.

Hi Lulu, Don't think you'll have any problems - lots of marriages here between people of different countries/nationalities. Good luck with the move!

My hus. recently got an offer to bring us over to AD. I am an American citizen, and have lived in the US for 27 years, but I look VERY Arabic. (danish mother, but arab father). I lived in SA until I was 6 and am well aware of the customs, culture, however...I am a little nervous about how we might be received in UAE as an American Man married to a seemingly Arab woman. We have two young daughters... all your thoughts ( and candor) would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance. ~ Lulu edited by lululyons on 09/01/2011 edited by lululyons on 09/01/2011
