Hi there is a strong possibility that my husband will be taking up a job in Abu Dhabi in which his company pays for school fees. My daughters and I live in Scotland and are quite excited about a possible move. However I am concerned about their schooling can anyone recommend schools that follow the British curriculum that they might get a place in. They are 14 and 13 years old. Thanks in advance xx

Thanks in advance xx u may struggle at those ages, as its coming up to the exam years but the scottish system is different in fact its out by a year etc. you will have to apply to all and hedge your bets and take what is available at the time. there is none that you will defo more likely to find a place, you will need to register with them all. at least now there are many to choose from a few years ago there were only really 2!

Hi there, Just a warning - Make sure you ask if the employer will pay for deposits for more than one school as they are over subscribed or whether they have relationships that will ensure they can get in to one. Also, all employers have a limit of what they will pay for tuition (and may not pay for books, uniforms, etc.) so make sure you ask how much they pay per year per child - sometimes this is less than some of the better British school tuitions.

Hi there, there are quite a few good schools in Abu Dhabi who follow the British curriculum. Some years are hard to get in to but usually the older years are less populated so therefore easier. The biggest battle is finding a school near where you live as you don't want to be traveling too far every day. Your best bet really is to choose the school then somewhere to live close by. A few of the schools are: Brighton College Al Yasmina British School Al Khubairat Cranleigh - just opened this year so not sure what year group they go up to but worth checking. There are others but should be enough to be going on with, they will all have websites to look at.
