I just read this:
A 50 per cent discount on traffic fines is now applicable to all fines issued in Abu Dhabi. Vehicles registered in other emirates, which incurred traffic fines issued by the Abu Dhabi police, will also benefit from the discount, a traffic police official said.

right it will tell you on the website, i know in the past that you actually had to go to the court and ask the judge to reduce it by 50% and this was taking a lot of time, so they decided to slash certain fines, if you have driven way over the speed limit these will not be reduced you will have to pay what the cost is, and the cost goes up for every 10km over the speed limit

Thanks for the discount idea. Never thought there was anything like that. My car is registered in Dubai, where I live. What is the procedure for me to benefit from it?
ok they only discount abu dhabi car plates not dubai. so sorry no discount for you. but you should always check the picture as sometimes they put down 1 wrong digit. again if you log in with the traffic code then it will bring up all fines and there is usually on the ad website a little icon that shows you a picture of the offending car, best to check it.

It depends whereabouts on the road you were. Its 140 until you get to the section that goes down to 2 lanes and the start of the roadworks. Then its 120 the rest of the way. When I lived there you used to be able to go to the traffic department within a week or so of the fine being issued and get the fine halved.
i dont know the dubai al ain road, but when you are driving abu dhabi al ain once you get into the outskirts of al ain the speed limit is much much lower. only when you are driving on the main highway stretches then its 140.
Radar flashed and my speed was a bit below 140 kph. Checked internet and found that Abu Dhabi police issued fine. Can I complain? Has anyone been in the same situation?
if its abu dhabi and you were not going way over the speed limit then they will half the fines anyway, look on the website in abu dhabi they usually discount you.
