There is a British counsellor called Joanna at the Manchester Clinic (on the beach road) who specialises in drug and alcohol issues for adults and I think teenagers. Might be worth trying her for some advice. Best of luck! edited by Melia on 03/01/2011

Definitely contact someone through aaarabia.org, I have taken a visitor to some of their meetings on SZR on a few occasions in the last year and they were extremely helpful. There is a list of all the meetings on the website and also lots of contact numbers so I am sure somebody there will be able to help you. Good Luck.

There is the National Rehabilitation Centre in Abu Dhabi (nrc.ae) where they have a residential treatment centre and other services. Perhaps they can help point you in the right direction.

Try the Dubai Community Health Centre, if anyone would know they would.

I'm not sure, honestly. I know there are counsellors for all kinds of issues, but not sure specifically about drugs/alcohol. However, someone from these groups will surely know. It might be something they only disclose to members ... I would think we have to be more careful/respectful about these issues here than in other countries.

There is: http://www.aaarabia.org/dubai.html They do small group meetings (closed to members only and open to all) at various locations, including a family session.
