...preferrably with a spa, in tranquil surroundings. Something priced mid-range as I've blown the budget for Rome and Venice and am now stuck with finding something decent for Florence!

Thank you

I can really recommend Hotel David. It doesn't have a spa but does have a garden, relax room and a lovely lounge where you can curl up with a book. The staff are exceptionally helpful, the rooms are clean and it is a short bus ride into the centre. They have a free happy hour with anti pasti and wine and soft drinks. Their restaurant recommendations were superb. I would go back in an instant. I found it on Trip Advisor. edited by sarassister on 04/01/2011

Initially we didn't want to be that far out at we don't intend to hire a car, we're more than happy to rely on hotel shuttles or cabs. The intention was to visit the city most days but have somewhere really peaceful and relaxing to stay if we choose not to go out some days or spend the morning or afternoon at the hotel. is there somewhere you can recommend?
