Could not find my post from last week, but just had to say had the most amazing meal at Verre last night.

The Hilton was easier to find than we thought coming from the Springs end of town, and we have been to Gary Rhodes Mezzanine twice and loved the restaurant setting and food, the restaurant setting at Verre I felt was not quite as romantic as Mezzanine but the food at Verre's overrides that.

They have a 3 course menu for 395 and there is a voucher in the Fine Dining book which gives you 180 dirhams off the price of the set menu.

The lasagne of lobster and mushroom starter was just so good I could have eaten it twice, my mains of belly pork with crackling and pureed cabbage and jus was just amazing and the dessert we chose was the tarte tatin, absolutely fab, it comes as a dish to share and is by far the best I have tasted outside of France. In between the courses is the usual amuse bouches that you get at Mezzanine too all very delicious. To end the meal was petit fours, all in all very yummy.

I had a G & T beforehand and at 35 does not break the bank, I had a couple of glasses of Sauvignon Blanc with the meal which was 70 a glass, so not bad.

If you have got the Fine Dining book go and try it, I cannot wait to go again next month.
