This sounds like a daft question but is there any other solutions to getting the skins off mini onions.
im making Coq au vin tonight, and need those little mini onions to put in,
Have made it before , delicious, but trying to get the skin off those little onions is a NIGHTMARE!
Its takes about half an hour! very tedious!
Does anyone else have a solution?

I dont know if this will work but we saw it on youtube for garlic and do it all the time now. Chop the top off and then pop in the microwave for 15 secs then the garlic cloves just pop out from their paper skins. Might be worth a try?

pop the unskinned onions in a bowl, pour over a kettle of boiling water - let them soak for a few mins then top and tail and the skins will come off quite quickly - beware though the onions will be hot so use some kitchen paper or a tea towel while peeling. Sounds yummy!

also to add streaming eyes, i put them in the fridge before hand too, as a tip, but with those little blighters doesnt work! I put a snorkle masque on last time! and i think my DH had more tears in his eyes with laughter! ha ha brilliant!
