Thanks TanyaR.
Things have slowed to what I would now call my usual heavy period so that is better. A little crampy ... maybe a 1 out of 10 on pain scale... but then I had no pain relief in the birth of DS because I was ok with the contractions - weren't that bad - and when I had the ectopic pregnancy I felt no pain either... ummm so probably not one to really know about the pain!?
At least the blood has slowed for today so I am hoping it was just reaction to stopping the Cerazette. See Dr early in the week so unless it picks up again, hopefully all is alright and I wont need to call her.
thx heaps for the reply. xox
hmmm.. I am not sure - sorry, but I didn't want this to go unanswered, when there had been a few views! I didn't get my period back until about the same time, and mine has had the opposite effect. I have just done a bit of googling (with limited success) - average blood loss during a period is 40-60ml - but apparently some can lose up to 400-500ml - eeek! But apparently any period that lasts beyond 7 days is abnormal, but I ask, is that still the case after 'recently' having had a child.
Dare I say it - if the colour is a red 'raw' colour and continually flowing I would definitely be concerned. But if it is just a really heavy flow, there might still be a little issue, but not 'dire' requireing immediate attention if you know what I mean. Any unusual pain at all?
DS is now 6.5 mths old and for contraception I have been on cerazette (sp) since he was 3 months (mind you DS seems to be a rather natural contraception anyway) ... but besides that this month - well few days before new years I got my first cycle... and well I'm still going! It slowed down for a bit but then about Friday last week decided to flow again and tonight so far I have filled 2 pads within 4 hrs.
I have spoken to my obst earlier in the week and have an appointment with her next week... I've come off the mini pill because she doesn't think it is agreeing with me. I stopped taking it 2 days ago and now my p is heavier than I have experienced it in about 12 years ... not to mention that I'm at about day 15!!
Should I see how I go tonight / tomorrow and then call?
how much b***d is too much do you think?
TIA
