he uses nappies for 5-8 kg and he is 6 kg..will try a different brand, never had this before. strange how this works:-) yeah, move a size up. I find that if they're within the top 3kg of the range, they leak.

I had that problem a few times when my DS was about that age. Once it happened when we were in the car and he had poo up to his neck!!! Nightmare! I moved to a large size diaper..

both my two would leak like crazy in Pampers... but Sanita bambi is just fine for them (well, DD is out of nappies now). I also find that choosing a size that means that DS's weight is in the bottom half (he's 13kg, so he's currently in the 11-18kg size range) works well.

I had the same problem with my DS. The diapers he was wearing for the first month or so (Huggies) suddenly didn´t seem to do it anymore. I agree, changing brands just solved my problem. Am now going for pampers (orange) sleep and play. My son is now 10 months and have seen leaking again so will try a new type to see if that solves the problem.

I don't know why, but it does seem that different diapers work for different babies. We used various diapers, but ended up with pampers premium which we felt were best for DS. From what I know, as long as you have the right size, that the nappy is on 'straight' so sits straight on his hips (and not uneven), that the frills around the outter are pulled out (when you do this there is also an inside edge that I make sure is fully pulled flat to reduce leakage), and that they are firmly fastened - that is the best you can do. We still had nappy explosions, although not wee, just poo. On the point of his penis being pointed down - I alway found my DS's was too small to make sure it was pointed down (my husband is going to kill me for saying that!) but seriously, there is so much extra room in the front of the diaper that means they fall naturally at this age and really don't require any direction assistance! So not really much point of pushing it downways, if it is not going to be held in place by the nappy and just return to its natural resting place! Anyway, hope that helps - maybe try a few different brands if you are sure things are fastened/sized correctly... Good luck - you don't need anymore washing!

I don't think you are doing something wrong...some diapers work better for certain babies than others. I used to have leaks with the pampers premium all the time and Huggies kept him dry. Now he is 4 months and its the other way around, always dry with pampers and always leaking with Huggies. No idea why, I just accept his bum shape must have changed, haha. Just keep experimenting with brands until you find one that works. Also, it is possible that you need to get a bigger size, I also noticed my son started leaking when he almost grew out of that size, moved one size up and problem solved. Good luck!
