Dubai Beach Hotel Recommendation please....

Right you clever lot......

Some friends are coming to Dubai in March. They'll be staying with us for a while and then want to move on to a hotel for a few days for some real R&R. 2 small children (1 and 4). The requirements are beach and pool and absolute ultimate budget is 300pounds (approx 1500 dhs) per night but would much prefer something in the 150 - 200 pound region. Has to be clean, decent restaurants/fooderies and a little taste of luxury for them.

Any ideas please? Anybody know of any special deals/offers on at the moment? Is it worth buying the Entertainer travel book? Would it be worthwhile my doing the booking to get 'residents' prices?

Thanks in advance for your input.

My best friend and I stayed in Sofitel Jumeirah Beach for 2 nights and only paid 1260 Dhs instead of 2520 so it might be worth it!

for what I remember Hilton RAK is not on the beach, but they have nice area (Hiltonia) on the seaside which you can easily access thanks to the free shuttles Hilton/Hiltonia...very very nice beach, pools, and... food!!! There are 2 Hilton's in RAK - Hilton Resort and Spa - right on the beach and the older Hilton by the creek, but with free shuttle bus to the other one.

Thanks for all your suggestions... lal1 - where did you pick up this deal please? I've been on to their website and their best rate is 1500dhs per night!!!! Spill the beans please! Through Hilton.co.uk try this link we are also booked in for next weekend at 415 but I know it's now showing at slightly higher price but still a bargain. http://www.hilton.co.uk/HiWayWeb/appmanager/portals/brand?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=brand_page_offer_campaign&campaignId=80814 Great website. Haven't seen this one before

Mina Seyahi :in the last couple of months when I've been there (we have members...)there was so much noise, airplanes, helicopters, motorboats, and they have also reduced the beach, the water is not the same ( since there is palm jumeirah, in my opinion)... Better Royal Meridien or Hilton Jumeirah,or Sheraton Beach resort...I've no idea about prices but in my opinion better to pay little more [b'>here [/b'>instead of saving little amount in RAK and spend hours in taxi and...you are staying in RAK instead of Dubai... Or better Sharjah Beach hotel, very nice and familiar..I've sent many many times my friends there (if they can survive without alcool )

Fantastic! Thanks so much for this info. Finally, how long does it take to drive there from Dubai (Arabian Ranches specifically)? Probably an hour and a half.

Check the Mina Seyahi, they have rates starting at 220 gbp per room in March. Their beach, pools and kids club are fantastic. Worth checking if you can get an even better rate at booking.com too xxx

Have they considered Hilton Resort and Spa in RAK? Hilton has an up to 50% off deal if you book and pay before end of Jan. Just came back from there for a bargain price of approx 73 GBP 415 aed per room B&B in a deluxe room

I hold no brief for BA, but I've just looked at their website and the cheapest flights for 10 days in March come to GBP1,128.30 for 2 adults, 1 child, and 1 infant, taxes included. There are also good deals for all inclusive hols, so I'd get your friends to check there. Am now going to tell my friends to book for then!

I've heard that you get better deals if you purchase your flight and hotel as a deal all-in from England, rather than booking your hotel here. I could be wrong, but it might be worth your friends asking a travel agent, or even looking at BA offers (best a direct flight with two small children and they're quite cheap if you book now).

All beach hotels in Dubai are nice. I think some might be in the travel Entertainer as well. Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa regularly has good offers as well.
