Haha I have to make myself write km instead of miles, so I don't know if there is another word for mileage here! The 4000km cap is per month for the entire rental, and we will be renting for at least another year since we don't want the burdens of buying a car here. Does that answer your question? Check again with Hertz about the cap. They started adding them recently and put one on our car at United Car Rental (don't get me started) without notifying us of the change. My husband works in Khalifa City so we definitly hit the cap but it's still cheaper than what we were paying. Many thanks georgiagirl yes it does answer my question - I was thinking it was not much for a year! I am also going to lease again and am looking around for a better option than Hertz - I leased from them for the last 2 years and frankly the service was not that great and if they have now introduced a cap as well they are definitely off my list.

georgiagirl - can I ask how long that 4000 km mileage cap is for? Is it for 1 month, 6 month a year ? I rented with Hertz - this is cheaper but I do not think there was a mileage cap with Hertz. BTW just realised how strange it is to talk about the mileage of kilometeres although I know it is correct it feels like there should be another word for it!

We used Diamondlease and got the car from the Habtoor Grand in the Marina. AED 1000 deposit, AED 1750 for a Mitsubishi Lancer (automatic) with comprehensive insurance. 4000km mileage cap then 15fils/km which is paid at the end of the rental, so you can "roll over" km. Need drivers license, passport, and credit card. Note: they will not accept debit cards, checks, or cash for the deposit and first payment. 048852677 switchboard Habtoor Grand Hotel location in Marina 043995049 Open 8-5, seven days a week except holidays. Hope that helps!

Dear all, we are thinking of renting a (smaller) car for the next 4 months (feb-may). Do you have any personal recommendations? Good deals on somewhere? Thanks for sharing!
