Need a Launderette

Our washing machine has had a massive hissy fit and looks like it'll be out of service for a week or two. With two young children I need to keep the washing down, so does anyone know of a launderette around town? Would prefer to do myself, as last time our machine broke, it cost a small fortune to get the washing done.

I'm in Discovery Gardens, so anywhere reasonably near there will be great.

Could you not buy a very cheap second hand one which would do in the meantime? And then put it up for sale after you get yours back? A friend bought a great machine last year from a guy who was leaving Dubai and desperate to sell for 250dhs. But then now thinking, its probably not worth the hassle of picking up and installing......

Why not ask a neighbour to wash the clothes and pay them a fair amount for the trouble and you can dry the clothes yourself as you do normally and will be alot less than 1000 dirhams.

I hear you Zannie! Ours went for repairs and it was gone for a month. Luckily I was able to take my laundry to my dad's. Sounds like a laundrette is a good business idea!

Bum, last time I used a laundry delivery service it cost me over 1000AED!!:\: I did have a far bit, but was utterly shocked. Not bothered about having it ironed.

There aren't any - there are laundries where you can take your washing (or who will come and collect) but no DIY ones.
