Hi,

I hope someone can help me, I’ve been searching on the net for ages but cant seen to get any good leads. I’m having my wedding blessing in 6 weeks and am looking for a cake maker...

I'd preferably like to find someone who makes cakes as a living from home? I've tried Nick and Jen (Frosted) who have been recommended on here alot but they are unable to do it due to prior engagements unfortunately. I’m not looking for anything too swanky.. but i do have a design in mind, but the couple of quotes i have received are asking for 3,000 AED and above, is that excessive or is that what i should be expecting to pay? Im only looking for sponge to feed approx 100 people.

Do any of you know someone or a shop who makes wedding cakes in particular?

Thanks :) and have a lovely day!

try Miranda bakes... ren's cakes are to die for absolutely... have ordered from many across dubai but none are as rich and moist as hers... not sure about her prices for 100pax though... u might need to check with her directly as it usually depends on the complexity of design... http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gid=106332949402945 her cakes are very large (portion wise) so please always under order!

This cake done by Arlette is wonderful. She can also do traditional wedding cake designs. Reasonably priced she is and does delivery too. Very creative and talented. http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/album.php?aid=265222&id=84731402377

Great thank you Amelia! I will search for Nuku on facebook too... Yes we're having our blessing in The Ritz Carlton, but they havent offered us any freebies unfortunately and i have asked for a quote or to meet the chief but nothing as of yet.... Thanks! Thanks Shoyz, if you have their contact details that would be great! Are they good at decorating and stacking cakes do you know? Contact Mr. Dinu Jose, Asst. Mgr 0556535996, 04-3343893. www.bakemart.ae The cake that they had kept on display was nicely decorated and stacked. Maybe you can visit and check it out.

Hi bluebogger, You can also check with Bakemart, they need 2 days prior confirmation and they can deliver it to where you want. They charge AED 100 per kg. They have a shop in Karama. Let me know if you need the contact details. I had just checked with them last week about the cake.

We have used a lady who lives on the Springs for birthday cakes and they have been excellent. Maybe worth contacting her as I am sure she would do wedding cakes as well. Sorry don't have a 'phone number for her now but she is on Facebook - Nuku's Cakes and Cookies. I think there is a lady on here called 'Wikkid' (if not, I am sure someone will put up the correct name) who makes cakes. Put a message on for her. Are you having your blessing at an hotel here ? If so, have you contacted them to see if they will provide a cake. My DD got married here and had her reception at Le Royal Meridien (fabulous day) and, amongst a lot of other freebies, they provided a three tier cake free of charge. HTH Sorry my post has crossed with the one below. edited by amelia on 10/02/2011 <em>edited by amelia on 10/02/2011</em>
