Was there a tread on here about someone looking to photograph babies for their portfolio (i.e. newborns?) or is my brain completely addled from lack of sleep???

No, these aren't the one's. It was on this forum really briefly last night... not sure what happened to it! The poster was offering photographs for free to build her portfolio! (I'm a cheapsake!) As for the hug-a-bub... My SIL ordered it off the luxe.com website and it was delivered within about 3 or 4 working days (not bad for Dubai huh!). I'm really enjoying using it, it's easy to use (once you've watched the dvd and worked out what to do with the several metres of material). I've found it very easy on my back - but carrying around 3kg is hardly a challenge! It's very comfy though :) The one I was given is the hug-a-bub pocketless wrap carrier - they're all pretty similar (other than the ring sling one). Just type of material and color etc. I love it! :) HTH!
