I second the Sheraton in the Laguna Resort in Phuket. We went with friends (we both had 1 year old girls) and had a great time. We stayed in what they call a 2 bedroom villa which was perfect for 2 small families. Have a great time.

I suggest Koh Samui - its the dry season of the year (otherside of the island). We have stayed twice with our children at the Grand Central Samui - awesome for kids and adults. It is centrally located as you can walk out onto the main road and have access to resturants and markets... very kiddy orientated! Highly recommend. Our kids ages are 3 and 6! Will definitely go back to the same place again!

The Holiday Inn Resort in Phuket was great. Just next to the beach and main hub...we had a blast!!!

Stayed at the Amari in Phuket. Beautiful hotel and stunning sea veiws from most rooms, breakfast to die for and far enough away from centre of town to avoid the noise but close enough to walk into several times a day/night. Think it's rainy season when you are going, didn't bother us but just be carefull of the boat trips they offer to phi phi as most stay longer at neighbouring islands where you are forced to buy as deserted otherwise, also seas very rough at that time. Great nightlife and close to other island sto island hop.
