Just out of curiousity sake. We have two boys and thinking of having a third and hoping this time we have a girl.

Just wondering if anyone tried any of those methods of having a specific gender and were successful or if anyone has a girl after two boys or vice versa

Srdoucet, please don't feel you need to explain yourself. Any mum on here would know that whatever gender your next baby is of course you would love it unconditionally. I don't think there is anything wrong with 'hoping' for a specific gender. I'm torn for our next one (when the time comes), I would love a boy as we have a girl already and to have a boy would be so cool but then another girl would also be very special so my DD can have a little sister, plus we already have the clothes and pink stuff...LOL! What will be, will be. Have fun in the meantime trying to increase your chances and good luck! ;)

Just to clarify for those questioning whether or not I'd be happy with another boy. DH and I have always talked about having three or four kids. We are now thinking of stopping after three. I've just always wanted a girl but was never disappointed finding out that either of my LOs were boys. Do I picture us having all boys probably. Is it luck of the draw ;) definitely. Does it hurt to do things that may increase chances of having a girl no I don't think so. They always use to say it depends on family history: DH is the only boy with two younger sisters. His mom comes from a family of two girls and one boy and his dad from two boys, two girls. I come from a family of two girls and three boys. My sister had two girls then a boy. My mom was the fourth girl with one bro, and dad has two sisters and two brothers.

While I realize you may want a girl this time around - the question is what will you do if it is another boy? I only ask because my sister has 4 boys (and would have dearly loved to have a little girl) and lost one to miscarriage. No judgement intended - but do you want another child? I don't think the OP is saying she wouldn't want another boy I think she's just asking if there is a way to increase her chance of having a girl. I don't think there is anything wrong with her wanting to have a girl. For my first I really wanted a boy, for my second I really wanted a girl and for my third I really wanted another boy, just because it's what I wanted it doesn't mean that I wouldn't have loved them if they came out opposite to what I was hoping for.

WebMd has a good pregnancy calendar where it tells you positions and dates to choose the gender of your baby. I haven't tried it but worth a go. :)

I have to agree with poster below. when we were having our first, we were at 'it' like rabbits! and we had a boy. This time around we were not as 'busy' as the first time and I remember when we did it about 2-3 days before ovulation and tada we are having a girl. we did not mean to try for a girl, just turned out that way. And I have read on loads of websites that if you do want to have a girl then you do it a few day before you ovulate coz girl sperm lives for longer inside you compared to boy sperm. I used this website to track my cycles so I knew more or less when I was most fertile and when to go for it. http://www.mymonthlycycles.com/whencalcct.jsp?calctype=mp Good luck and hope it helps

One of the methods I read is that the closer (intercourse) to your ovulation day the greater the chance of being a boy. I will tell in 3 weeks (during my next scan) if its true since we did it a day before ovulation so technically we should be having a boy, we will see?

All I can say... GOOD LUCK! ;) You have about a 50% chance of getting what you want! The methods to change your internal pH etc can increase your chances of chosing the *** - but only by a teeny-tiny percentage... Unless you're happy with 3 boys (which I am blessed with) you're better sticking with your two LO's!
