Thanks x

I had travel insurance with Lloyds TSB, I didnt realise at the time but I had it for a month and the start date was from the time I ordered it, not for the whole holiday duration, we werent covered for the last 5days of the trip. So whoever you book with check the dates.

We have annual worldwide travel policies with Axa, not sure but assume that for skiing it may have to be an extra added into the policy. Otherwise, the Axa policy is very comprehensive and they are (surprisingly) easy to deal with, although, touch wood, haven't had to make a claim.

We always use BUPA/iHi for travel insurance - a little more expensive perhaps but excellent cover. They will cover you for all adventurous/extreme activities other than profession motor sports with the same cover. Their local office is just off the SZR, I think Lifecare International is their local name but failing that just Google BUPA/iFi and you can use their international site to sort it out within minutes.

We used RSA but I am sure AXAs quotes are fairly similar. It will be far more expensive than what you would pay in the UK but you do not have a choice unfortunately.

We usually use AXA for our trips from Dubai - located by Wafi or you can do it over the phone.
