I am just so happy that Guinness is home with Guinness. If you are reading this Guinness and ever need someone to walk her for you give me a call - it must be hard to cope with her and the kids at times. I will be in the UK for a month from 27th March to 27th April, but otherwise I can help you. edited by jillp on 22/03/2011 <em>edited by jillp on 24/03/2011</em>

Am guessing that they are not calling anymore as am assuming that a lot of the dogs are abandoned..... and having spent lots of time tracking down previous owners who have left the country, they are no longer spending time doing it.... sad really. It's really sad. If they'd called Guinness the day dog Guinness came in he could have been back at home so much quicker...... I'm shocked as this was not what they told me when I went there the other month. They assured me that if an animal comes in and is clearly well looked after that they check the chip and make the call.....hmmmmmmmm - clearly not! It's a real shame, isn't it, because Guinness assumed the Municipality would call her if they'd found the dog. I don't quite understand why the security guards didn't call Guinness (the extremely busy (if not harrassed?) mother of 4), in the first place, because her phone number was on Guinness's (the dog's) collar. Anyhow, glad Guinness is home safe and sound. (Both of them). See, now I would have thought that the guards would have phoned Guiness too, especially as it appears they had her for a time. but at the gate just now and asking for the photo with G's phone number on it, they 1) didnt know what I was talking about and 2) had to search for some time for the poster. Thrilled to bits that everyone is happily reunited.

I was told that even if the dog has contact details on his collar, municipality is not calling the owner, sometimes they call if he is got the municipality tag. There are some volunteers who go there take the dogs' photos and post them on facebook. Guinness photo was already on facebook on one of the organizations' walls under "Dogs looking for homes" but the problem that I don't know in breeds and also she was mentioned under another breed that's why I didn't make the connection. Anyway good that they are reunited now :) By the way, there is a beautiful dog (I think German Shepherd) and a small puppy due to be put to sleep on Thursday this week, the owner dropped the GS as he didn't want him anymore but due to his friendly nature the municipality gave him another chance to live until Thursday, he is healthy. If you think it will be a good idea to start posting photos of available dogs at municipality, let me know. <em>edited by JS on 22/03/2011</em>

Apparently they are not calling owners even if their number is on the dog's collars. That is unforgiveable - surely the easiest thing to do for all concerned is to make that one call......what can we do to make this happen??????........ how crazy. Fantastic news that Guinness is back home! This has happened with a few of the dogs up there, the only way to really help is for volunteers to go up there and check and call the numbers themselves....

It is definitely her dog! Municpality is calling him Australian Shepherd and he is up for ADOPTION because owner didn't show up. Apparently they are not calling owners even if their number is on the dog's collars. If anyone can get her number and call her, municipality closes at 1.30pm so she has to be there before!!

I don't know her, but her phone number is at the springs pet shop with a photo of guiness, it's not open yet though, but i could go there when it is if it helps? Or...try ringing vets where guiness has [posted the dog missing...they'll be open now ish and will have her number? OR someone in the same medows head to the quards, they should have her number.

Does anyone know Guiness to call her? on her thread someone has posted a picture of a dog that looks like a bernese that I believe the municipality have. She needs to check it out ASAP. I know she has litlle ones and may not get on here to see it.
