Polyps found during week 7 check-up

I just had my week 7 scan and check-up, saw a healthy heartbeat (which was great) and was told that there's no blood clotting etc surrounding my uterus.
All was good and phew. Until I mentioned my recorded off/ons of light brown to dark brown discharge/ spotting.
The doc gave another pap smear check and found a polyp size of a pea on my cervix. Apparentl's quite common and harmless, but was adviced to have
it removed (with surgical tools) as soon.
Here I'm wondering if I should seek second opinion, or leave it til after birth?
Bummer that I didn't ask what harm does it do to my baby if I delay this procedure?
Anyone here been through this?
