The word "Nelson" in cricket is usually given to the score of 111 (and it's multiples)... kind of a superstition where they believe that a wicket is going to fall at that particular score. The late umpire David Shepherd would always hop whenever the score would reach 111.... a nice quirky superstition. ETA: I don't quite know who Nelson is though... will need to google that! edited by terrible_twos on 25/03/2011 Only England believe in that though. There are other more salient numbers for other teams [eg Australia's is 87 - devil's number, 13 shy of 100'>. When a batsman is on that, he's watching EVERYTHING. ;) OH WOW! ANOTHER WICKET !!!
