I used both and to be honest, I loved the PIS Medela. Ended up selling my Aveda. You could get second hand and just order the milk tubes (very cheap) and the pumps. I used to pump so much milk at work, I bought extra bottles and funnel things and it was pretty cheap. Its the actual pump thats expensive. edited by xmasbaby on 29/03/2011

Thanks, ladies! I have been reading better reviews for Ameda than for Medela, do you have any experience on Ameda? I have a good experience with hospital-grade Medela, but not with Medela Symphony, did not work for me at all!

I was also considering that. Do I need to buy any new pieces, or I can just sterilize all the sterilizable parts and use it? Right now I am using a rented hospital grade Medela Lactina but I bought my own kit. Can I use the bottles and tubing with the Medela Pump in Style one?

Hi, all, I will be traveling in 1 month and I am thinking about buying a portable, battery-operated Medela Pump In Style Advanced Breast Pump. Do you know where I can find it either in Sharjah or in Dubai? Is there any other option for traveling by plane (a 15h trip) with a baby who is not latching well? I am just afraid that I may not be able to BF at all on the plane (it's very tricky) and that spending 15 h without expressing is just too long. Thanks for your opinions!
