ok I know there are bigger things in this world to moan about but...

My lovely agency cleaner is booked to come at 11.30 today. Its a set time so I can plan the day around her coming, Freckles Jr's sleep, preparing dinner, school pick up, shopping etc etc etc. Lately she has been turning up at all different times (she comes three times a week).....this morning she arrived at 9.45.

Not a big thing I know BUT its thrown my whole day out now. Wish agencies would just stick the the pre-arranged times or at least call to say there is a change.

it seems to be worse if you have an afternoon session - I needed someone just for a couple of hours (so had to have the minimum of 4), and they only had afternoon slots. She was meant to turn up at 1.00 - but turned up at 3.00....not only was a waiting around, then she was in the way when getting the kids ready for bed...... So my advice, always do a morning slot.....

She would have just waited outside the door all morning. Yes, for sure. Mine refuses to actually knock on the door (we have no doorbell). I found out after the first time when I thought she was 10 minutes late and went to the door to throw out the trash, and there she was. Now I'm constantly looking through the peephole 5 minutes before she's supposed to arrive. Sure enough, she's just standing there waiting.

I know what you mean - yesterday, I booked a new one for 10 am and she knocked on my door at 9.30, so I'm afraid I told her to come back at 10 because that was when I'd asked for her to come. The agency told me that she was in the area from 7.30 am, but I certainly didn't want her to come to work that early! As I understand it, the agency buses them all in to the area early in the morning for the first appointment and the other girls have to hang around and wait for the time the client has asked for. If I were you, I would complain to the agency. You might have been out all morning, so then what would she have done? She would have just waited outside the door all morning.

When I used to have an agency maid, I would clear either the whole morning or the whole afternoon because I knew they'd never come at the scheduled time. They come when the driver drops them off.

I'd be annoyed too. Whenever I've hired an agency maid, she has always arrived right on time. If it affects your day you should mention it to her. If it doesn't change, tell the agency. Nothing like re-juggling your day when you've got kids and other things going on.
