Cheap is such a common word, only cheap people would use it. Economical, fiscal savvy, tightahse, money wise, yes but cheap is chav and reflects that. First of all, I have no idea what "chav" is and second of all, the point is that everyone of us - even the most wealthy - has a bit of "cheap" in them. Cheap is chav. Well, that explains it, mishy!

He may only have so much money to go around so cuts need to be made somewhere. GirlAnachronism's DH reminded me that my mother used to say that everyone is cheap in their own way ... For example, my DH will take me out to a very expensive restaurant, no problem, but refuses to take a taxi to get there because it costs too much. I wear Jimmy Choo shoes, but hoard plastic sandwich baggies. So for a Thursday thread: in what way are you cheap?

oops, has he read the scam about the jackets for sale at gas stations? Let me guess, the seller was leaving the country that night and needed money to buy his daughter an iphone but was willing to let these jackets go for a bargain. That's hilarious! Is that the sort of world we are living in now, when someone "needs" an IPhone! LOL!!! Scammers with a plane to catch and a daughter at home apparently lol. aka liars

DH loves to shop at outlets/discount stores because he likes to see the markdown prices on the tags AND is also reluctant to let me buy books on the Kindle (unless they are free titles) because I read them too quickly. But then went and bought 3 jackets from a guy at a GAS STATION 2 weeks ago for 300 dirhams EACH! :\: oops, has he read the scam about the jackets for sale at gas stations? I think nothing of buying expensive makeup and then throwing it in a drawer never to see the light of day again after one use .. and daren't even think about how many expensive items of clothing I have in my wardrobe that I have NEVER worn.. but I will squeeze every last little itsy drop out of a bottle of washing up liquid even going as far to put hot water in to make sure I get it all...

Only shop in M&S when they have a sale on as refuse to pay the 'extra' when the tag clearly says in English what the item costs. Don't buy clothes from anywhere here unless they are discounted!

Even though I travel biz/1st , I always trek around the mall car park looking for the cart deposit so I can get my Dh1 back.....and I spend huge amounts on DD's Mac products, but complain about having to buy my once a year eye liner stick.

That's a good one!! I shop at Union Co-op (love it, loathe Spinneys with a passion), travel ecomomy if paying myself and wouldn't think twice about adding a couple of hours to a flight to save money by conecting (via Karachi in one case) :)
