I want to buy/make something really special for our twins 1st birthday next week... anyone got any ideas or any suggestions.
They're boy/girl twins and i'd like something that's really personal that they can keep forever :)

Hello.Again.kitty - I use Photobox too and I am a professional photographer!!! :) .........well I used to be before I became a SAHM :) They're such good value and perfect for our family albums. I'll have a look into getting fingerprint pendants done I think. Thank you ladies for your suggestions. If anyone has anymore though, please let me know.

I have done the fingerprint cufflinks for DH from all of them and I have a necklace with all 3 kids fingerprints on. I like the idea of doing it for them though, it would be cute for them to see how tiny their fingerprints were when they're grown up! ! the pendants can be quite gender-neutral, so I think it'd be lovely actually - you son could wear it (if he wanted to) with a manly cord or chunky chain - hehe - and your daughter with a fine chain.

photo album of their first year with family tree and all that. I do photobooks quite regularly through Photobox (but everyone does them now!) and have done 1 for my two's first year... and second year... and am now on to year-books. They really are lovely - the templates are all set up, you upload your pictures and can choose how many photos per page, add pages if you run out os space and add captions too. Really, really lovely and there's no need to pay a professional to do it, because it's so easy and the quality is fantastic.

We have already set up trust funds for each of them, i'll get DH to top them up abit anyway :) Just wanted to add that I have been thinking about this for ages and i've already bought them a few things like a Princess castle ball pool for DD and a Car ball pool for DS :) Don't want to look like a completely unorganised mum!! Their also having a big joint birthday party with their Big brother :) I'm really looking for ideas for things they can keep forever. I made them storybook photo albums for their Christmas pressies of their first-ish year. I did the same for our older DS for his 1st Christmas. He got a ride on tractor and trailor type thing for his 1st birthday and a personalised money box (with alot of £2 coins in!!) I was thinking of getting DD a necklace with her name engraved to keep forever but can't think of the same sort of sentimental thing for DS. Could do the money box thing for him I guess. I have done the fingerprint cufflinks for DH from all of them and I have a necklace with all 3 kids fingerprints on. I like the idea of doing it for them though, it would be cute for them to see how tiny their fingerprints were when they're grown up! Thanks Hello.Again.Kitty. Sallystreet - the Mobilo stuff looks great, think my 4 year old DS would actually really love that!!

if you find mobilo, its a fantastic gift that they will play with until they are about 8 or 10 !!! i think they may sell it there too ( kidz in c ) as i find that the best gifts are expensive and people can't usually afford to give a whole set of something like that.

money in their trust fund! No... well, yes, it is a good idea... but how about something heirloomy that can me made identical. Next week might be pushing it for something like a hand-made quilt or how about a piece of jewellery? I used Impression47 to get DH some silver cufflinks with our children's fingerprints and names on them, but they also do charm bracelets, necklaces and whatnot. It might be quite nice for your children to both have identical pendants with both their fingerprints on... after all, they'll be showered with presents on the day, so it won't matter if they get one that they can't use immediately.
