I'm a Philly girl, so not much help on rural western PA cities. My guess is it will be a bit isolated and limited, given how far it is from Pittsburgh.

Why is your DS studying there? Do they have a specific course that no where eles does? My experiences of PA are rural, very friendly, small town mentality, white. Probably because the school accepted him. There are a number of schools in the US that specialize in kids from overseas.

Pittsburgh is a very nice place to study and live. When it comes to Philly, it has its own charm but as any big city, you must watch yourself....

Not from there and have yet to visit the East Coast, but know people from there and they say it's a beautiful place.

It's a really big state. Can you be more specific on what you are wanting to know?

My son is off to college in Pennsylvania and we are not from the states. Although I have done loads of research on the internet nothing like some honest feedback from the people in the know? Appreciate any comments.
