got curious and just found this about trident residence buildings regarding cameras in the homes. "In your Smart Home, you can be there for your kids at all times. You will be able to access the web camera and ensure whether your kids have arrived from school and had their meal. Or even keep track of your home alone pets from time to time - using the internet." So that means its a working camera, accessible by the web (by anyone who has the password.. past renters, Landlord.. who knows). I can see where this would be useful to some people, but i would cover it because there is no telling who can actually get ahold of the video stream. I'm guessing you can't remove the actual camera since its part of th built in "Smart Home" security that Trident has. This is extremely freaky :S

Golly. Reading this thread has given me some rather rude thoughts. Best keep them to myself I think.

LOL going on youtube now. If you see a naked lady prancing around the Trident residence - that's me! Ok, I better call the maintenance now. Your positive attitude gave me a smile :) I hope that it is nothing but in the meantime a piece of gaffer or masking tape wouldn't go astray.

I've seen one of those in an apartment in the Marina too, I was just going in to feed the cats, but I did wonder. I thought surely no one would live with that in their house if it is a fully functioning camera so I assumed it was just for show, but maybe not. Its a bit big brother...and surely highly illegal! I would insist on having it removed as its violating your privacy rights!

We saw an appt with that too - think it was in one of the trident buildings. The RE guy said it was a security camera that you could "log into" from a laptop so you can check up on your place when you're away. Sounded a little suspect to us and creeped me out too. We decided not to move there!!

Tape a bag over it or take it down.
