We would like to take our Filipino nanny back to Australia with us for a holiday. Does anyone know if the immigration authorities are likely to issue a visa for this?

Our Indonesian had previously travelled with us to Uk and France, but OZ is harder. Definate flight risk

Our current lady was allowed numerous times with her pervious Australian sponsors and stayed up to three months at a time. I think it got easier each time, this was just last year and she was only with them for under 2 years. not sure how they did it but they did. HTH

We would like to take ours to see her family there when we go home too but I believe its more of a hassle than anything and you may have to pay a huge bond if it gets to the stage that they grant you a visa. I have had a friend take a Sri Lanken Helper but even then not easy. A friend recently was refused. Good luck!

A lot of European countries will only allow you take your homehelp if she has been employed by you for more than a year. Other than that proviso, most countries do allow it under the normal conditions, so maybe Australia will, if she has been working with you for a while and even better if she has travelled with you on previous occasions to other countries. However based on VP experience, it sounds like it might not be an option for Australia. One word of advice though, talk to the visa section at the Embassy first rather than just apply and risk having it refused, it can become a bit of a hassle if u try to get a visa for a different country later, she will have to disclose she had a visa application refused and it can create unnecessary hassle. Good Luck and let us know if you do manage to get the visa.

I have a friend that took her filipino maid last year, said it was difficult to get a visa, but it was eventually approved. Just make sure you apply in lots of time before your trip.

Hi there. On what grounds do they refuse? Do they think there is an absconder risk?

It is very difficult. We were refused for our Indonesian, and I know of someone whose Filipina was refused. You can try.
