thanks ladies... my SIL is a doll and I love my kid brother to bits...anything to make them happy... and I usually see all gifts being showered on babies where they have no clue watsoever where as the poor Mum hardly gets anything... :O( So, I will order things from Edinburgh and get it delivered, and search for spas near to their place(shoulder massage to be specific).....off to google... Thanks mums.... really appreciate.

For the baby - a Grobag in the right tog for the climate. Makes bedtime so easy once baby doesn't need to be swaddled and cosy for bub. There are also travel ones. I bought mine online from the UK. I got two gift wrapped and delivered for my SIL. My DD's best gift was a beautiful playmat (almost like a patchwork). I used it for her to lie on when she was a baby and now as a 3 year old, she tucks her dollies up with it. I can see it being handed down to her children one day. For mum - a few hours of your time. Take the baby for a walk while mum grabs a nap or goes for coffee/lunch with her husband between feeds. As a mother with a newborn I would prefer a facial, pedicure, manicure or hair voucher as lying on tummy for a back massage can be uncomfortable if you are BF, but a shoulder massage would be nice! What a thoughtful SIL you are!

Post-Natal stretch marks cream... New moms would hardly have time for themselves but definitely love Massage vouchers P.S -- The baby chair looks something like this http://www.mothercare.com/Summer-Infant-Deluxe-Baby-Bather/dp/B004GXQ5BK?ie=UTF8&ref=sr_1_14&nodeId=42855041&sr=1-14&qid=1303642990

I would make a gift hamper. Get small trinkets like baby bottles, cover for the bottles, mittens, socks, beanies, winter clothes, tights, bottle warmer, sterlizer, clothes, nappies, washcloths, soft toys with rattles etc... All packed so nicely in a gift basket.. Depends on your budget.. I loved the similar hamper my sister-in-law gifted me on my baby shower. Also, you could gift them something useful like a rocking chair for the baby or bath time chair, where they can strap their LO and give him/her a bath. Would say that it was one of the most useful gifts I'd received.
