check out the hotels as they should now be doing their summer rates now that the heat is kicking in! 2 of my favourites are Le Meridien Al Aqah and the Hilton Resort and Spa in Ras Al Khaimah - be careful there are 2 hiltons - it's the resort and spa one - not the other one! I've called loads of hotels and none are offering summer specials yet =( Maybe in May they'll start?

Kelly1814 -was wondering how it went! Great to hear you liked it. I think thats what I'll book for my mum and I oooh! it was honestly so fab!!!!! i will get round to blogging about it at some point and share link. very relaxing, peaceful, also with the opportunity to nip into kathmandu itself and we also went to bhaktapur - good balance of complete relaxation and a bit of adventure. lovely place. and 2000 dirhams!!!!!! all went super smoothly with air arabia - cannot beat it! oh - and - the daily massages which were part of the 2000 deal were the BEST massages i have ever had it 20 years! 2000?! Is that per person? Which hotel did you stay it? Is there much 'to do' out there?

Have just done the very cheap at Acacia hotel Ras al khaimah, 250aed/nite or 399aed with waterpark tickets to Iceland waterpark. Hotel on an industrial estate but has very cheap brekkie 19aed and lunch 30aed. Great size pool and free shuttle bus to Al Hamra fort beach hotel. Entertainer vouchers for both hotels make it even better. The waterpark was great and hotel was a great location to explore the surrounding area. 1hour door to door.

We love the Cove Rotana in RAK. Close and relaxing and not too expensive, especially if you have a Rotana card.

Not sure about cheap but just went to Sir Bani Yas last weekend and it was quite nice - the hotel anyway. I can't understand all the fuss about the wildlife and trying to plant trees on a place so unsustainable but if it pleases them who am I to argue. Anyway the hotel (Anatara) was very nice - small but good facilities and a nice break from Dubai without having to fly - drive 2.5 hours past Abu Dhabi and get a boat which takes about 15mins.
