I saw Dr Carol Smylie at the Dubai London Clinic Festival City branch. She is lovely; very practical and very understanding. I also like Dr Andrew Devine at City Hospital if you don't mind seeing a man. He's friendly, matter-of-fact and down-to-earth.
Dr Smylie recommended I see Dr Sabrina Christensen at the Jumeirah branch of DLC, too. I think she's a psychologist and counsellor. I found her easy to talk to and very understanding.
I was adamant I didn't want to take medication and I struggled through for a long time. Now, I'm finally enjoying my baby and my life again - DS is 11 months too - but it's been difficult. Number 2 is due in November and at the first sign of even the smallest hint of PND, I am off to the doctor for whatever they can give me. I know meds are not always the answer but I felt so horrendous, I don't ever want to repeat that experience and I don't care what I have to do to fix it. I guess what I mean is if the doctor suggests medication might help, don't discount it as I did.
I live in Springs if you fancy a coffee or a chat at a soft-play area any time.
I have an 11 month old baby and have been in Dubai for 3 months. Am finding it increasingly hard as hubby is away at least 50% of the time.
Can anybody recommend a counsellor or good GP to goand see in Dubai please?
