Dubai Govt Clinic/ Al Wasl- Newly Pregnant, help?!
Hello Ladies
I am hoping some of you lovely ladies can help me out with some info on navigating the Govt health care.
I am about 7 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child. My first was born in the US so I don't have much experience with antenatal care here in Dubai.
We do not have maternity coverage and have decided to go with Al Wasl for my delivery.
I did a blood test at Welcare to confirm the pregnancy two weeks ago and my hcg levels were showing 5-6 weeks pregnant.
Last Wednesday I went to Al Wasl to renew my health card, had no issues, they told me to go to Al Badda clinic for any appointments before 16 weeks. So I went to Al Badda, and told them I was pregnant and wanted to see a doctor, I saw Dr. Wissam and she told me to come back at 16 weeks. She didn't ask my history, if this was my first pregnancy, actually she didn't ask me anything at all!
I told her that I had gestational diabetes and elevated blood pressure with my last pregnancy and that due to other complications I ended up having an emergency c section. She still told me to come back at 16 weeks.
Is there no 12 week scan? No blood tests or urine tests prior to 16 weeks? Did you ladies visit a private clinic before you reached 16 weeks?
I would appreciate any support or guidance.
