Hi ladies
DD will be 8 months on 17th Oct and she has been eating like a champ since starting solids at 5 months.. however.... since returning from the UK approximately 1 month ago mealtimes have turned into a bit of a battlefield. She's not at all keen on 'textured' (fork mashed) food although she has no problem with eating textured puddings, it's just the savoury stuff she rejects. She will currently have maybe 3 or 4 spoonfuls but takes forever and she is very prone to spitting it all out. Loves finger food and perhaps I started giving her food to hold too early as now I have to wait for her to finish with that to have any chance of shovelling the rest of the meal down! She's a good weight so am not too concerned... yet. I do wonder what's changed though; in despair I have recently started offering her tried and trusted favourites and even those aren't making any headway :( Obviously if I was content to feed her on an exclusive diet of porridge, yoghurt and rice cakes we'd be fine!! Any suggestions as DD is sooooo stubborn and I can't face three food related tantrums a day ;) I should add that she is a lovely, happy, smiling bubba in all other respects and has also just cut her first tooth and has a second coming through (think they're a bit sore but have been giving her calpol and dentinox and she's sleeping well).

Thanks v much for any suggestions!!

If she wants to feed herself finger food then do that instead of mashing it. For things she can't quite manage whole puree them and then spread into little sandwiches or dip other finger foods in.
