We got the certificate from the hospital the day after delivery, then through the Baby Steps service we got all the UAE registration done in one or two days, with documents pick up and delivery. Next days we are planning a trip to our Consulate. At least this is what I understood, I can ask my husband for further details if needed.

Ours took a good few days and I had to call them to ask if it was ready. I left hospital on the 4th and collected it last Thursday.

It's the actual notification of birth issued from the hospital I was after. Baby was born on the 13th, called them on the 18th to find out when I can collect it, to be told that they will call me when it is ready, so after waiting 11 days since birth, called again this am to be told they have had it since the 17th and I can come and collect it :\: whilst the care at City is great, there is a lot to be said about communication.

Within 15 hrs (week day) and DH able to register birth that day, paid extra for faster service and the birth certificates were with us on the 4th day by courier. This service is available at hospital where you register birth. DH said it was v surprisingly uncomplicated for here!!!! Are you british? Do you have both parents full birth certs, this is what held us up getting them couriered from UK passport took 16 days in total from here to germany n back!! good luck

How long before the birth notification is ready? Previously got it the day we left from AH, and really want to start the passport process ASAP!
