Right, DS is finally getting to the stage where he's about to outgrow his all in on pyjamas. In preparation for this I have a couple of two piece pyjamas waiting in the cupboard. Now, DS co-sleeps and HATES the duvet on him, should I ever put it on in the middle of the night because I feel a little chilly and think he might be too, he soon kicks it off completely.

My question is, if he doesn't sleep with a cover on, won't his feet get cold and wake him up?? I know I wake up, or can't even sleep, if my feet are cold. Or should I put some kind of socks on him??

Daft question but I'm confused!

TIA

Thanks ladies for all your input but I think I worried unnecessarily about nothing. A few days ago I bit the bullet and put DS's new 'big boy' pyjamas on without socks as he's somewhat weird and will only wear socks if he's going to wear shoes. Turns out his feet are warm all night long even without the duvet on, just like his dad, and he slept just the same so wasn't even aware of the change himself. Now, if only those darned molars would hurry up and finish coming through I may get more than 3 hours sleep at a time!

Same issue here with 27 month old DS Since a couple of months he takes his sleeping bag off by himself, so that no longer is a solution either. I did find some pyjamas in Carrefour size 36 months though (with feet attached to them, if you know what I mean) He also refuses any kind of blanket or duvet, and if I put it on him while he is sleeping, he will either get up in the middle of the night to hide it in his closet, or go and lie on top of it. Little devil is too clever already for his own good...

Hi Sandy, DD hates covers too - I put a blanket on har when she is asleep. I always put socks on her, too.

What size sleepsuits is he in now? I just found 18-24 months in Mothercare and I think they may even have had 24-36 months. I'm worrying about the same thing for when mine outgrows these! edited by DubaiCat on 31/01/2012

I had to stop putting him in a sleeping bag at about 15mths. We went away and I forgot to take it with us so he slept without it for a week then upon our return he would scream blue murder whenever I tried to put it on so we just left it off. Will try the socks though! Thanks

Try him in a sleeping bag. My DD also hates being covered up but I use these and she sleeps very well. I try and buy a bigger size for her so that there is plenty of room and you can get different togs for the colder weather.

TIA Put socks on him, but my kids have an enormous tolerance for the cold, won't sleep with a cover on and still manage to sleep in the refrigerator I call a bedroom.
